Well this needed to be fixed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-197\" title=\"Hole where shock absorber mounts\" src=\"http:\/\/www.my55chevybelair.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/hole-for-shock-absorber-mount-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"http:\/\/my55chevybelair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/hole-for-shock-absorber-mount-300x217.jpg 300w, http:\/\/my55chevybelair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/hole-for-shock-absorber-mount.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since I don&#8217;t have welding equipment in my garage, I had the car taken to a shop that can weld in the new shock tower mount\u00a0I got from J&amp;E Classic Chevy. The thing that makes this better than the replacements other places sell is that this tower mount can be welded to the frame so the shocks won&#8217;t rip through the floor of the trunk again. Works for me.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-187\" title=\"Shock Tower\" src=\"http:\/\/www.my55chevybelair.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/shock-tower-300x83.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"83\" srcset=\"http:\/\/my55chevybelair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/shock-tower-300x83.jpg 300w, http:\/\/my55chevybelair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/shock-tower.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So when the shop pulled the gas tank to weld this in, they told me it looked as though the car had been sitting so long before I got it, the fuel in the tank turned to a black tar like substance. So J&amp;E Classic Chevy came to the rescue again with a fuel tank and new sensor.
