I got the needed light socket that goes behind the instrument cluster and a dummy cigarette lighter to fill the hole that will be left in the dash when I fix the 3 other big holes left from the gauges the previous owner put in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-676\" title=\"Gauge holes in dash board\" src=\"http:\/\/www.my55chevybelair.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/dash-gauge-holes-300x235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"235\" srcset=\"http:\/\/my55chevybelair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/dash-gauge-holes-300x235.jpg 300w, http:\/\/my55chevybelair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/dash-gauge-holes.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I got a small piece of sheetmetal earlier in the week and cut it to fit the section of the dash where the gauges were. I measured out how big the cigarette lighter was and cut a hole in the sheet metal exactly where it needed to be. After attaching the piece to the dash and putting the replacement dash trim over it, you&#8217;d never know that gauges were there before!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I took a trip to Craig&#8217;s 56 Chevy yard today.
