My '55 Chevy BelAir Blog

From One Chevy Tri-Five Enthusiast To Another!

Checking out the Autofest’s new digs

Last November I missed the Florida Fall Autofest because it moved to Lakeland, FL from it’s previous location in Zephyrhills, FL. So today I made the drive to the Winter Florida Autofest to:

1.) Check out the new location, 2.) Look for some parts for My 55 Chevy BelAir at the Swap Meet and 3.) Wander the Car Corral and check out the Auction.

It was a long day but I did manage to find at least one of the things on my list. What I was looking for mainly was some new LED bulbs for my speedometer and gauge cluster.

As you can see from the pictures, before, the lights were very dim and kind of hard to see during night driving. With the new LED bulbs it literally looks like night and day!

Even though I did not get everything on my list, I am very happy that I was able to find the bulbs to fit my gauges. I was hoping to get a bulb for the dome light too but as it turns out, the dome light bulb was a bit larger than the gauge bulbs. So next time I go looking for parts like this, I will definitely bring the old parts with me to try and match them up.

As I wandered the car corral, I kept hearing on the PA system that Tom Wopat, the actor from the Dukes of Hazzard TV Show was at the event. I went past the tent he was supposed to be at a few times and saw two different General Lee cars (with Rebel Flags on the roofs) and two Hazzard County Sheriff cars  but never saw “Luke Duke”.

I did see many other cool cars and got lots of pictures too. Stay tuned for those pictures to be posted soon.

Thanks for stopping by, I’ll catch you next time.
