Last night I decided to take a trip to Old Town to watch Cruise Night. Am I glad I did! There were so many nice rides there and a few cool classics too. Even the original Herbie the Love Bug made an appearance.
But the most important thing I got from the drive over was inspiration. That and some good tips and leads on how to proceed with the restoration and a few places to locate parts.
So today, I sat down and proceeded to check out some of the web sites mentioned. I managed to find a good place to get my disc brake conversion kit which I will order on Monday when the stores open. I also managed to find some other gems I’ll be getting sometime in the future. One thing I did see was the Chevy trunk emblem which was also a third brake light and it came with a wiring harness too. the downside, it was over $200. So that is a ways down on my list of wants.
For now, it’s mechanical needs first. Gotta have this baby running in top shape when she hits the streets!
