From One Chevy Tri-Five Enthusiast To Another!

This should keep that hot head cool

I’ve been thinkning about getting an electric fan to try and keep the engine running cooler. After chatting with a couple classic car enthusiasts, I was told an aluminum radiator would be a  better place to start. So after scoring a nice aluminum radiator at the Zephyrhills Autofest, I had some more work to do.

After getting everything ready to go, I started sizing up the radiator for install. Oops! I discovered the radiator was for a V8 car and not the 6 cyl my was originally. No worries, i grabbed some scrap metal, cut it to size with the Sawz-All and Voila, new radiator brackets! The radiator bolted in smoothly and now it was time to fill it back up.

WTF?! Water was still pouring out the bottom. Wasn’t the hose clamp as I originally thought.
